FWHR In the Community

When you volunteer, you help Tarrant Area Food Bank's vision of communities where no one has to go hungry within reach.  In Tarrant County and the 12 other counties TAFB serves, one in six people face hunger.

In 2018 amazing people like you donated 60,200 hours of their time to TAFB to help fill empty plates. On Saturday, October 19th from 10 AM to 1 PM, FWHR will be volunteering in Quality Control at Tarrant Area Food Bank for the
6th year in a row. Please join us and help Tarrant Area Food Bank know the generosity of FWHR.

“Thank you Bar-B-Que Luncheon”

The Greater Fort Worth Civic Leaders & The Greater Fort Worth Area Community Charities hosted a “Thank you Bar-B-Que Luncheon” for the military personnel and civilian employees, who work at the Naval Air Station, Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth on Friday, May 24th.  Community leaders from around the Metroplex were invited to come out to the base to thank the men and women serving our Nation.  This is the largest event of its kind in the Metroplex.  Don Graves 93 year-old Iwo Jima survivor shared stories of his experience. Mayor Kay Granger spoke about how they got the base reopened and gave out awards to several veterans. FWHR participated as a Bronze sponsor and our own FWHR member Sabrina Williams, a veteran herself, attended on behalf of our membership.
